After their world debut at 2014 EICMA in Italy, the 2015 Tiger 800 range from Triumph Motorcycles made their debut in India at the 2015 India Bike Week last month. Today, these two motorcycles were officially launched in India.
2015 Tiger 800 XRx and XCx are both adventure bikes designed and engineered for cross country road trips. Both motorcycles sport similar engines in the form of liquid cooled, 12 valve, DOHC, in-line 3 cylinder 800 cc engine. These engines are capable of 93.7 bhp peak power and 79 Nm peak torque mated to a 6 speed gearbox.
The differences between the two models are seen in their chassis and dynamics. The XRx is tuned for road use and minimal off roading facilities. It sports 19” front and 17” rear spoked wheels, higher dual sport front mudguard and fully adjustable suspensions along with a radiator guard.
On the other hand, Triumph XCx gets 21” in front and 17” at the rear (both spoked) for enhanced off roading capabilities. Other sporty updates includes higher dual sport type front mudguards, fully adjustable suspension and radiator guard. It is a special WP suspension that offers better control and fits the model for better off road use.
On board features on both 2015 Tiger 800 XRx and XCx include advanced trip computer, three riding modes, auto cancel indicators, central stand, adjustable screen and a 12V power socket. The two models also boast of 17% more fuel efficiency as against its outgoing counterpart.
