A publication assures that 2016 BMW 3-Series facelift will be shown to the media at a special press conference at Munich, Germany, on said date.
Not much about the upcoming update for the BMW 3-Series is known for sure, but it is believed to be nothing more than a minor mid-life refresh. The new 3-Series LCI would feature slightly spruced up bumpers, subtly enhanced kidney grille and new adaptive LED headlights as a first to 3-er (optional of course). Add new alloy wheels and revised LED tail lamps as well to the list of cosmetic updates.
Changes in interiors of BMW F30 facelift are expected to be all the less conspicuous. Updated BMW iDrive system and new accents & upholstery are the most anticipated.
As for powertrain, it is rumoured that 2016 BMW 3-Series facelift will receive 1.5 litre 3-cylinder engine for base variant. Further, a plug-in hybrid variant driven by 2.0 litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine in conjunction with lithium-ion battery powered electric motor, is also anticipated. Other than the above, usual petrol and diesel engines would be tightened up for better mileage, NVH and lower CO2 emissions.
Expect the F30 LCI (Life Cycle Impulse) to be put in production in Europe, in August, 2015.
