Uber users were offered an exclusive ride in the BMW 7 Series yesterday. This new feature was available to all Uber users in Miami, New York City, Chicago, and Los Angeles.
On order via the ride hailing app, the initiative is aimed to create some buzz and gain some media coverage ahead of launch of 2016 BMW 7 Series on 24th October. It will also give prospective buyers to experience the new 7 Series like never before.
While the free ride was just for a day, prospective BMW 7 Series customers were also sent an exclusive offer through the Uber App announcing on demand test rides or chauffeur driven vehicles over a weekend long initiative.
On October 17th and 18th prospective buyers could test out the 2016 BMW 7 Series which is regaled as the most innovative vehicle in its class. This was a novel way to draw the attention of customers and stir up some excitement ahead of launch.
2016 BMW 7 Series sets new benchmark in terms of design, driving dynamics and on-board comforts and infotainment. BMW 740i is priced at $82,295 (INR 53,44,648) while the 750i sedan is priced at $95,395 (INR 61,96,138 and price of 750i xDrive is at $98,395 (INR 63,90,996).
While this is not the first time that Uber has partnered with an automaker to promote a vehicle, it is the first time that Uber has been called on to promote a make/model ahead of launch.
