Several spyshots of what is claimed to be the 2016 Honda CBR150R have emerged online from Indonesia, signalling the motorcycle’s imminent debut in the country. While the existing version emerges as a touring friendly vehicle, the next iteration appears to be a trackbred.
The 150 cc fully faired sportbikes undergoes a radical design change. The aggressive front fascia houses a triangular visor and sleek headlamps (possibly incorporating LED elements). The fuel tank features more accentuated knee recesses and the all-new tailpiece features raised pillion seat a la Yamaha R15 V2.0. Other new elements include taillight, alloy wheels, side panels, fully digital instrument console, LED indicators, silencer and handlebar. We expect to see a forward biased riding posture.
Reports from Indonesian media indicate that the motorcycle would adopt a new and more powerful 150 cc liquid-cooled fuel-injected engine. Transmission would continue to be a 6-speed unit. The existing motorcycle delivers 18.28 bhp and 12.66 Nm of torque.
The 2016 CBR150R appears to have retained the older version’s diamond frame chassis. The front telescopic fork and rear monoshock have been retained too. The front and rear disc brakes are expected to benefit from optional dual-channel ABS.

The 2016 Honda CBR150R is practically a whole new bike with a lot more character and features. Hence, we expect it to be priced noticeably higher than the outgoing model. India is likely to receive the new model towards the end of this year.
