The 2016 Hyundai Genesis and Azera sedan have received equipment upgrade in preparation for the upcoming model year. Neither of the premium sedans feature noticeable visual changes.
The Genesis sedan gets standard HID headlamps and LED daytime running lights across the range. The automaker also offers LED foglights on the V6 variant at an additional cost of USD 750. The 311 hp variant is now priced at USD 38,750 (around INR 25.27 lakhs) for the RWD version.
The range topping 420 hp 5.0-litre V8 variant is now dearer by USD 2,350 at USD 53,580 (INR 38.20 lakhs) but it offers the previously optional Ultimate equipment package which was priced at USD 3,250 as standard. The additional features include continuous damping control suspension, head up display, DIS navigation system with 9.2-inch HD display, Lexicon Discrete Logic 7 surround audio system with 17 speakers, power trunk lid, and dual-mode HVAC with CO2 sensor.
The 2016 Hyundai Azera entry level variant features no changes while the top-end Limited trim receives Smart Cruise Control with Start/Stop function and an electronic parking brake. The new Azera starts at USD 34,100 (INR 22.24 lakhs).
Both premium sedans will be reaching the US dealerships in November this year. Hyundai is reportedly studying the Indian market for the Genesis as a flagship premium offering. If things look bright, we could see the sedan on our roads in the coming years.
