2016 Skoda Superb will not be on display at the upcoming 2016 Auto Expo, as Skoda India is not participating. But this does not mean that they do not have any new vehicles for India this year.
The Czech car brand is all-set to launch their flagship sedan, 2016 Superb in India later this month. A completely new car, with a host of latest technologies, 2016 Skoda Superb is based on the Volkswagen Group’s MQB platform. It shares over 50% of its interiors with the 2015 Volkswagen Passat.
Exteriors are similar to that seen on the new Skoda Octavia and is dominated by strong lines and accents. The 2016 Skoda Superb is around 75 kgs lighter than its earlier counterpart while length is increased by 28mm, width is increased by 47mm while wheelbase also grows by 80mm.
Cabin updates on the 2016 Skoda Superb will include a design and elements as seen on the B8 Passat with new fabrics, graphics and touchscreen display. The interiors will also see standard features such as two zone climate control, electrically adjustable front seats and AC vents at the rear while top end trims will get leather upholstery.
In India, 2016 Skoda Superb engine options could include a 1.8 liter TSI engine offering 180 PS power and 250 Nm torque along with a 2.0 liter TDI diesel engine option capable of 190 PS power and 400 Nm torque. Expect price of new Skoda Superb to start from INR 22 lakh.
