Unveiled officially late last year, new Superb is expected to be launched in India next year.

Skoda Auto India has imported three units of 2016 Skoda Superb in India. These units are now being tested and tuned as per Indian road conditions to offer best experience to buyers in the country, once it goes on sale next year.

Based on VW Group MQB platform, 2016 Skoda Superb shares measures 4,861 mm in length, 1,468 mm in height and 1,864 mm in width. 2016 Skoda Superb is 28 mm longer and 47 mm wider that the current generation model on sale in India while wheelbase is also extended by 80mm.

Once launched, (expected at Auto Expo 2016), the new Superb will go on sale with the 2.0 liter TDI diesel engine and a 1.8 liter petrol TSI motor. Both these options will be mated to DSG double clutch transmission. Manual transmission will not be on offer.

Spied testing on public roads near Skoda’s assembly plant in Aurangabad, 2016 Skoda Superb for India boasts of 5 spoke alloy wheels, reworked front bumpers with silver guards and extended wheel arches.

Interiors see extensive use of leather and premium quality material. Features on board includes three zone climate control, heated seats and panoramic electric roof.

Apart from the standard Superb, the Superb L&K edition is also expected to be launched in India. This trim gets loaded with extra features such as an 8” touch screen, MirrorLink system, state of the art CANTON audio system, iPad, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay compatibility and automatic lights and wipers also form a part of its interior features along with a bevy of airbags.
