Exterior and interior renderings of the 2017 Ford EcoSport facelift have emerged online soon after a camouflaged prototype was spotted in China. The upcoming facelift is more than just a minor nip and tuck.
The revamped front fascia of the 2017 EcoSport is expected to adopt a hexagonal grille like the one seen in the rendering. The headlamps, bumpers, bonnet and fenders would be reskinned to go with the new grille. The overall front end design would derive its inspiration from the new Edge. The profile would stay intact while the rear fascia may get slightly revised combination lights and more chrome on the tailgate.
If the recent spyshots are anything to go by, the interior is the most significant enhancement by far. The car ditches the current dashboard design with building centre console in favor of an understated yet more upmarket design which is further enhanced by dual-tone black-beige color theme. The steering wheel and instrument cluster are also all-new. Higher variants are expected to offer a touchscreen infotainment system, dual front airbags, projector headlamps, automatic climate control, LED daytime running lights, reverse parking camera, ABS with EBD, etc.
The powertrain lineup is expected to be retained as it is. The India-spec car is currently available with two petrol – 1.0L turbocharged EcoBoost and 1.5-litre Ti-VCT – and the lone 1.5-litre diesel engine.
The 2017 Ford EcoSport is expected to make its world premiere towards the end of this year. Launch in India should happen shortly after the unveil.
