2017 Ford EcoSport Facelift is now launched. The EcoSport compact SUV is available at a starting price of Rs 7.31 lakh (base Ambiente trim). The range tops at Rs 10.99 lakh (Titanium+ variant). All prices are ex-showroom, pan India).
Bookings for the compact SUV were opened on November 5, 2017. In a novel move, Ford India made available 123 Units of the 2017 Ford EcoSport Facelift through online booking on Amazon. As with, local manufacturing, Ford India has incresaed its localisation content to 85 percent, from 65 percent on the outgoing model. In its new avatar, the compact SUV is priced in the same range as it was available for the previous offering.
Design update: Upfront, 2017 Ford EcoSport Facelift features a new grille with thicker chrome slats, synonymous with Ford’s design language; projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, and larger foglights, and 17″ alloy wheels.

Interiors: Touchscreen infotainment system, except on base variant. The centre console is redesigned. Tech updates include Ford SYNC3 support system, and the system is compatible with Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Seat upholstery is new. The three-spoke steering wheel houses audio controls.
The sub 4 metre 2017 Ford EcoSport Facelift no longer relies on the 1.0 L EcoBoost, and 1.5 litre 4 cylinder engine. Power now comes from the 3 cyl 1.5 L petrol Dragon engine, and this is the only petrol engine on offer. The naturally aspirated 3 cyl returns 123hp at 6,500rpm, and max torque of 150Nm at 4,500rpm. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox, or six-speed automatic. The 1,5l diesel variant has been continued without an update (100hp, paired to a five-speed manual transmission).
ARAI fuel efficiency: Petrol (M): 17kpl. Petrol (AT): 14.8kpl. Diesel: 23kmpl. Safety: Two front airbag, and ABS with EBD. Features include hill start assist, ESC and traction control, paddleshifters. The top spec features side and curtain airbags, and Isofix child-seat mounts.
On the price front, Tata Nexon is available at a price of Rs 5.85 lakh – Rs 9.45 lakh. Maruti Vitara Brezza is available in the range of Rs 7.23 lakh – Rs 9.69 lakh.
