2018 BMW 6 Series GT makes global debut – Photos
2018 BMW 640i xDrive Gran Turismo is set for showrooms this fall with a price tag of $69,700 (INR 44,79,584).
New 2018 BMW 6-Series GT receives a sculpted design with flowing lines and an overall sporty feel. It is being offered in the four door, crossover, hatchback style, set to take the place of the outgoing 5 Series Gran Turismo.
Exteriors, interiors and engine specifications of the 2018 BMW 640i xDrive Gran Turismo have been detailed ahead of it making its public debut at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show in early September.
It is seen with extensive use of aluminum and high tensile steel in its body and chassis. In the front it receives a new front grille, full LED headlights, 19” wheels and air suspension on its rear axle. It also comes in with BMW’s Active Driving Assistant while there is an optional M Sport package as well.
Interiors offer enhanced space, comfort and the latest in technology and safety features. The new 6-Series GT gets a 10.25” high definition display, BMW iDrive infotainment system with 16 speakers, 1400 watt Bowers & Wilkins Diamond surround sound system, heads up display and BMW gesture control technology. Safety features include Active Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning and Cross Traffic Warning.
2018 BMW 640i xDrive Gran Turismo is powered by a 3.0 liter TwinPower, turbocharged, inline-six cylinder engine offering 335 hp peak power sending power to all four wheels via an 8 speed automatic gearbox. Acceleration is pegged at 0 to 100 kmph in 5.1 seconds. Set to arrive at showrooms from this fall, the 2018 BMW 640i xDrive Gran Turismo will carry a price tag of $69,700 (INR 44,79,584).
It also comes with an entry level 2.0 liter 630i variant generating 258 PS and 400 Nm. A diesel engine option in the form of 630d is also on offer. It is powered by a 3.0 liter six cylinder generating 265 PS and 620 Nm.
