New 2018 BMW 6-Series GT receives a sculpted design with flowing lines and an overall sporty feel. It is being offered in the four door, crossover, hatchback style, as it takes the place of the outgoing 5 Series Gran Turismo. The car was unveiled at the hands of BMW India’s brand ambassador, Mr Sachin Tendulkar at the 2018 Auto Expo earlier this year.
The new BMW 6 Series GT is seen with extensive use of aluminum and high tensile steel in its body and chassis. In the front it receives a new front grille, full LED headlights, 19” wheels and air suspension on its rear axle. It also comes in with BMW’s Active Driving Assistant while there is an optional M Sport package as well.
Interiors offer enhanced space, comfort and the latest in technology and safety features. The new 6-Series GT gets a 10.25” high definition display, BMW iDrive infotainment system with 16 speakers, 1400 watt Bowers & Wilkins Diamond surround sound system, heads up display and BMW gesture control technology. Safety features include Active Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning and Cross Traffic Warning.
2018 BMW 630i Gran Turismo is powered by a 2.0 liter turbocharged, inline-four cylinder petrol engine offering 190 hp peak power and 400 Nm torque sending power to wheels via an 8 speed automatic gearbox. Acceleration is pegged at 0 to 100 kmph in 6.3 seconds.
After launching the petrol variant back in February, BMW India today announced the launch of diesel variant of the 6 Series GT. Two trims are on offer – BMW 630d Gran Turismo Luxury Line and BMW 630d Gran Turismo M Sport. Price Rs 66.5 lakhs and Rs 73.7 lakhs respectively, ex-showroom. Price of the petrol BMW 630i Gran Turismo Luxury Line is Rs 61.8 lakhs, ex-sh.
