2018 Ford Mustang gets more power, technology and styling

The 2018 Ford Mustang has been revealed. It is seen with a new exterior design revealing a lowered hood, new LED headlamps, new front and rear bumpers and tri-bar tail lights. New exterior colors are also detailed that include Royal Crimson, Kona Blue and Orange Fury. Ford is also offered a total of 10 new wheel designs on board the new Mustang.

“The new Mustang is our best ever, based on more than 50 years as one of the iconic sports car in America and now, the world,” said Joe Hinrichs, president of The Americas. “Tapping Mustang’s enormous fan base, we’re bringing the new Mustang straight to the people – and introducing the new car across multiple social media channels, reaching millions.”

Interiors also get refreshed with vinyl wrapping seen on its central console, customizable display on gauges and metal start button. The 2018 Ford Mustang also gets an optional heated steering wheel, 12” wide full digital instrument cluster while safety updates include adaptive radar cruise control, new camera based lane keeping assist and pedestrian detecting automatic braking system. Ford has also included MagneRide adaptive suspension technology from the Mustang GT350 to its latest model.

In terms of engine specifications, the 2018 Ford Mustang is no longer offered with the V6 engine and in its stead gets two engine lineups that include a 2.3 liter turbocharged EcoBoost four cylinder engine and a new 5.0 liter V8 engine which is rated at 435 hp.

Both these engines get mated to a 10 speed automatic transmission promising quicker responsiveness and added performance while an updated 6 speed manual gearbox will also be on offer. 2018 Mustang goes on sale this fall when more details of prices and fuel economy features will be revealed.
