2018 Honda Amaze launch tomorrow – Variants, Features detailed

Set to launch tomorrow, that is on 16th May 2018, the new Honda Amaze compact sedan will be offered in four variants of E, S, V and VX. Bookings have already opened and first 20,000 customers benefit from a special introductory price.

2018 Honda Amaze will compete against the likes of Maruti Suzuki DZire, Hyundai Xcent and Ford Figo Aspire in compact sedan segment. Its list of comfort and safety features varies according to trim levels. The base E trim gets twin airbags, ABS and reverse parking sensors. It is also seen with air conditioning, power steering and chrome front grille along with dual tone interiors and driver side auto down window.

Honda Amaze S trim receives body color handles on doors, electrically adjustable wing mirrors and shark fin antenna. There is also keyless entry, tilt steering and height adjustable driver seat, adjustable front seat headrests and a 2 DIN stereo with 4 speakers and Bluetooth among its list of features.

Honda Amaze V trim gets LED positioning lamps, front fog lamps, automatic climate control, MID, and start stop button. Electric boot release and 15” alloy wheels are also seen on this variant which gets optional CVT automatic gearbox with paddle shifters.

Top of the line VX trim receives 6.7 inch touchscreen infotainment system synced with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, reverse parking camera, voice recognition and cruise control. Driver side window is with one touch up and down function and pinch guard.

2018 Honda Amaze receives petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.2 liter i-VTEC petrol engine offers 87 bhp power and 110 Nm torque and the 1.5 liter i-DTEC turbocharged diesel engine is capable of 98.6 bhp power and 200 Nm torque. Both engines get mated to manual gearbox as standard and CVT automatic as options. Fuel efficiency figures as rated by ARAI stand at 19.5 kmpl for petrol, 27.8 kmpl for diesel manual and at 23.8 kmpl for the diesel automatic.

Manual variant will be on offer with all four trims. While the CVT will only be offered on S and V trim. It will not be on offer on base and topend trim.
