The current generation Maruti Ertiga, of which the company sells an average of 4,500 units per month, is now 6 years old. The new generation Ertiga is set for launch in the country on 21st November 2018 and promises to come in with better features, larger dimensions contributing to more interior space and a host of feature updates as well.
2018 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is also open for bookings at a down payment of Rs 11,000. Bookings are open online and offline. To be offered in four variants of L, V, Z and Z+, the new Ertiga will be sold via standard Arena dealerships and will not be a NEXA product. The India-spec model will receive LED projector headlamps and LED tail lamps.
Other exterior updates will be a larger chrome grille, new bumper designs, electrically adjustable ORVMs, a sculpted tail gate and black C shaped cladding. It will sit on 16” alloy wheels and will get a stronger and more rigid body structure. The Ertiga is based on the same Heartect platform that underpins the new Swift and Dzire. It will measure 4,395mm in length, 1,735mm in width and 1,690mm in height. Wheelbase remains the same at 2,740 mm while ground clearance has been reduced to 180mm.
Interiors, in a spacious three row setup, will get a 7” infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, push button start/stop feature, reverse camera with rear parking sensors, keyless entry, USB charging ports and ISOFIX child seat mounts. Dual airbags and ABS will be offered as standard.
Engine specifications on the second generation Maruti Suzuki Ertiga will include a 1.5 liter petrol engine offering 104.7 PS power and 138 Nm torque. This is the same engine which we have seen on the new Ciaz. The 1.3 liter diesel engine will give out 89 PS power and 200 Nm torque. Petrol option will be offered with manual as well as automatic gearbox. Diesel option will be offered with only manual transmission. Both engines will get SHVS mild hybrid tech.
While the current Ertiga is priced between Rs 6.3-10.69 lakhs, the new-gen model could come in priced from Rs 6.50-11 lakhs. Once launched in India, the new Ertiga will have to contend with the Renault Lodgy, Honda BR-V and recently launched Mahindra Marazzo.
