2018 Volvo XC40 new variants launched – Huge demand for the luxury SUV in India

With Volvo Cars India elated at the response the new XC40 luxury SUV has received in the country, the company has introduced two new trims – Momentum D4 and Inscription D4. The compact luxury SUV Volvo XC40 R-Design, launched just a fortnight ago, has garnered bookings to the tune of 200 units.

Volvo XC40 Momentum D4 is priced at Rs 39.9 lakhs while the XC40 Inscription D4 carries a price tag of INR 43.9 lakhs. The R-Design, launched at an introductory price of INR 39.9 lakhs, is now priced at 42.9 lakhs. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.

New XC40 comes into India as completely built up units. In order to reduce prices, the company is mulling local assembly at their plant in Hoskote, Karnataka – via the completely knocked down route.

Exteriors of Volvo XC40 boast of a sporty design. It is positioned on Volvo’s new Compact Modular Architecture with space efficient rear suspension, a raised hood, sculpted tailgate and distinctive C Pillar graphics.

The Volvo dealership (SPL Cars, Kolkata) delivered 8 Volvo Cars including 6 XC40s on the auspicious occasion of Rath Yatra to their elated owners.

Interiors of the luxury SUV are seen with a 9.0” Sensus touchscreen, 12.3” digital instrument cluster, full leather upholstery and features such as adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, automatic collision control, emergency braking, ABS, rear parking camera, front radar and airbags.

The Volvo XC40 SUV is offered in three exterior color options of White, Red and Blue and two interior trim options of Black and Lava Red or all Black cabin.

All variants of Volvo XC40 are powered by a 2 liter, 4 cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine offering 190 bhp power and 400 Nm torque mated to an 8 speed automatic gearbox. They all boast of all wheel drive system and compete against BMW X1, Audi Q3 and Mercedes Benz GLA.
