Piaggio India owned Aprilia Scooters India have officially launched the new 2019 Storm 125 scooter in the country. This is the most affordable Aprilia scooter on offer today with prices starting from Rs 65,000. This is the same price at which the company had launched their first scooter, Aprilia SR150 back in 2016. Today, price of Aprilia SR150 is Rs 82,317, ex-sh.
Showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo, 2019 Aprilia Storm 125 is based on the SR 125, which is priced from Rs 71,224, ex-sh. 2019 Aprilia Storm 125 is identical to its SR counterpart in terms of design but comes in with matte paint color options of red, black and yellow. It also sports new body graphics.
Headlamp unit has been changed to a single bulb setup as against a twin bulb set up seen on the SR125 and 150. 2019 Aprilia Storm 125 also gets dual purpose 120/80 front and 130/80 rear 12” wheels by Vee Rubber enhancing its sportier stance.
Where features are concerned, the Aprilia Storm 125 gets an analog instrument cluster and a smartphone app through which the owner can locate the bike, access emergency helpline with location information and book service appointments etc.
2019 Aprilia Storm 125 is powered by the same 125cc engine that powers the SR125. This air cooled engine offers 9.5 hp power at 7,250 rpm and 9.8 Nm torque at 5,250 rpm mated to a CVT gearbox. Suspension is via telescopic forks in the front and single coil spring at the rear. Braking is with drum brakes at both ends. Aprilia Storm 125 gets a combined braking system (CBS) as standard. It weighs a total of 122 kgs making the scooter offer a quality ride on Indian road conditions and makes it comfortable for daily city commutes as its efficient suspensions absorbs all the bumps.

With launch today, company dealerships have also started accepting bookings for the new Aprilia Storm 125 at a down payment of Rs.5,000. The new Storm 125 will compete with the Honda Grazia, TVS NTorq 125, Hero Maestro Edge 125, which are priced at Rs 58,252, Rs 60,723 and Rs 58,500 respectively.
