Competitors: Upgraded Datsun GO will compete with the likes of Renault Kwid, Tata Tiago, Maruti Alto, and Maruti WagonR. In case of upgraded Datsun GO+, it does not seem to have any competitors in terms of size and dimensions. However, if we consider the price, it will rival the likes of Swift, Grand i10, Tiago and other cars in the price bracket of 4 to 7 lakh.

Recently Datsun India has announced a 5 percent increase in prices of the Go and GO+ which should equate to Rs.16,000 to Rs.30,000 price increase on both the models. These increased prices are with effect from 1st October 2019. Prior to this price hike, the Datsun GO was priced from Rs. 3.35-5.2 lakhs while the GO+ ranged between Rs.3.86-5.94 lakhs.

This price hike comes at a time when sales are down and in the last month the company had even introduced exchange bonus of Rs.15,000 and free insurance for the first year on both these models so as to increase sales. This price hike also comes in at a time when that has been a significant cut in corporate tax from 30 to 25 per cent, which most auto makers are passing on to the buyers. However, the company has cited increased input costs as reason for introducing this price hike while the company also plans up-gradation of these two models to meet upcoming safety regulations.
