2019 Honda Accord premiere at BIMS 2019

Honda Automobile (Thailand) has debuted the South East Asian version of the 10th generation Honda Accord at the 40th Bangkok International Motor Show. The car was officially introduced in the market just a week prior to the motor show. Both, the Turbo Petrol and the Hybrid versions of the car were put on display. The company also showcased 12 more models at the event.

The 2019 Accord is launched in Thailand at a starting price of THB 1.5 million (INR 32,68,290), for the TURBO EL variant. The Hybrid Accord retails at THB 1.65 million (INR 35,93,800). The flagship version is the Accord Hybrid Tech, that carries a price tag of 1.8 million baht (INR 39,20,500).

The standard 10-gen Accord comes with all-LED head lamps, LED fog lamps, LED tail lamps, and 19-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, while the 2019 Accord Modulo kit features sporty bumpers, side skirts and boot-lid spoilers, not to mention the chrome applique on the rear apron.

The new-gen Accord features a 1.5-litre Di VTEC turbo-petrol engine that retires the 2.4-litre naturally-aspirated motor produces 17 PS more power than the latter, at 190 PS, and returns an attractive fuel economy of 16.4 kmpl. The E85 compatible engine is paired with a CVT.

The 2019 Accord Hybrid is powered by a 2.0-litre DOHC i-VTEC Atkinson Cycle engine mated with an E-CVT and two electric motors powered by a Lithium-ion battery pack, to produce a peak power of 215 PS. The car features intelligent Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD) system that enables the new Accord Hybrid to be seamlessly responsive in various driving conditions. The fuel efficiency is claimed to be 24.4 kmpl, and CO2 emissions to be 97 g/km.

The noteworthy tech packed on the 10th Accord include Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow (ACC with LSF) , Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) , Road Departure Mitigation System with Lane Departure Warning (RDM with LDW), Auto High-Beam (AHB); as part of Honda SENSING. There are more such systems in this premium sport sedan like Traffic Sign Recognition, Cross Traffic Monitor (CTM), Multi-View Camera System (MVCS) and Honda Smart Parking Assist System.

The new Accord gets five colour options in Thailand, including Platinum White Pearl, Lunar Silver Metallic, Modern Steel Metallic, and Crystal Black Pearl.
