2019 Hyundai Grand i10 spied testing on Mumbai – Pune expressway

Hyundai Cars India has announced 8 new launches in the country by 2020. The first among these was the new Santro which was launched late last year. Upcoming launches include the 2019 Grand i10, Creta, Elantra and a sub 4 meter SUV which currently goes by the name Carlino Styx.

2019 Hyundai Grand i10 is expected to launch later this year, probably just ahead of the festive season. It will be bigger than its current counterpart as it will be based on a new advanced platform which will be lighter and stronger. It will also receive several feature updates.

2019 Hyundai Grand i10 will be positioned on the same platform as the current Santro. It will share its basic shape with its outgoing Grand i10 while feature updates will include new headlamps, LED DRLS and mild tweaks on front and rear bumpers. Earlier spy pics also revealed turn indicators mounted on front fenders as against on ORVMs, seen on its earlier counterpart, a cascading front grille design and new fog lamps encasing on its lower bumper.

Interiors of 2019 Hyundai Grand i10 also get updated. It will receive a dual tone interior in black and beige, new steering wheel design, 8” touchscreen infotainment system, larger and more comfortable seats. More space will be on offer on the inside, thanks to the larger platform. It will easily accommodate 5 adults. In compliance with new safety regulations, the 2019 Hyundai Grand i10 will also get rear parking sensors, speed alert, dual airbags with ABS as standard.

With demand for small diesel cars on the decline, Hyundai might not launch the next gen Grand i10 with diesel engine. Instead, offer it only with a petrol engine option mated to 5 speed MT and AMT. Current Grand i10 is powered by a 83 hp 1.2 liter petrol engine and 75 hp 1.2 liter diesel engine. Engine will be BS6 ready.

These changes will also bring about a change in price of the 2019 Hyundai Grand i10, which is currently priced at Rs.4.99 lakhs. Once launched, the new Grand i10 will continue its rivalry against the Maruti Swift and the recently launched Ford Figo.
