2019 Tata Tigor AMT launched in two more trims – XMA, XZA Plus

This makes the Tata Tigor AMT more accessible to a wider range of customers.

Until today, Tata Tigor AMT was only offered with XZA trim, which was priced from Rs 7 lakhs, ex-sh. Today, Tata Motors has announced the launch of two more variants of Tigor AMT.

One is based on the XM trim while the other is based on the XZ+ trim. Price of Tata Tigor AMT XMA is Rs 6.39 lakhs while that of the AMT XZA+ trim is Rs 7.24 lakhs. All prices are ex-sh, Delhi.

Tata Tigor AMT is only offered with petrol 1.2 liter engine. This is the same engine, which also powers the Tiago. It delivers 84 hp and 114 Nm. Mileage claim is 21 kmpl.

Apart from petrol and diesel variants of Tigor, Tata also offers all electric variants. But for now, electric Tigor is only for the Govt of India officials. Some dealers claim that the Tigor electric will soon go on sale for everyone. Test drive of Tigor electric will start in the coming days, with launch price expected to be in the Rs 13 lakh range.

Speaking about Tigor electric, Tata Motors through an alliance with Atal Indore City Transport Service Limited (AICTSL), recently deployed 50 Tigor Electric Vehicles in Indore. This is a part of its tender with EESL, and the supply of these vehicles is a part of this commitment towards enhancing sustainability.

Indore has been voted as India’s cleanest city. It takes this initiative even further with the induction of 50 Tata Tigor electric vehicles which is a part of a tender floated.

The Tata Tigor EV was also nominated as the Electric Car of the Year by ASSOCHAM. Tata Motors has re-engineered the Tigor and Tiago with electric powertrains.

The Tigor EV gets an electric motor with power of 40 kW while the transmission system will have single speed automatic transmission connected to the front wheels. Tata Tigor EV will have to compete with the Mahindra eVerito.
