2020 Ford EcoSport SUV rendered – Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon rival

Ford EcoSport is one of the best selling compact SUV across the globe. It has impressed buyers with its looks, power and performance. With the facelift launched last year, it is now time to get ready for the new generation of Ford EcoSport.

Rendering artist Kleber Silva, automotive designer based in Sao Paulo, Brazil gives us a peep into what this new Ford EcoSport is all about and he calls it the Ford EcoSport 2020.

First thought after seeing the rendering, instantly reminds one of the Creta. It is seen with similar headlamp design with daytime running lights, vertical fog lamps and chrome housing. The front grille gets bigger in size and hence stands out more prominently while the hood sports a more sculpted stance.

The new 2020 EcoSport gets 17” petal alloy wheels which also enhanced its boldness. One of the most notable changes as compared to the current generation EcoSport is that the artist’s drawings of EcoSport 2020 miss out on a rear mounted spare wheel. Apart from this, the rear end of the EcoSport gets subtle revisions, to make it look like larger Ford SUVs.

In the meantime, Ford is actively testing the next-gen EcoSport Crossover. It will be interesting to note how similar the Ford EcoSport 2020 renderings match up with the actual next generation Ford EcoSport Crossover.

Launched in India in 2013, Ford EcoSport sales are on a decline, thanks to the arrival of new rivals in the form of Maruti Brezza and Tata Nexon. Together, the Nexon and Brezza account for about 18-20,000 unit sales a month. EcoSport on the other hand, averages at about 4,000 units a month. Hopefully 2020 EcoSport helps the company increase sales.
