While old rivalries continue, two of the best selling SUVs in the segment, will now slug it out in their updated BS6 avatars
Ford Endeavour is the newest member of BS6 club and it comes with several new features including segment-first 10-speed automatic transmission. The engine generates max power of 170 ps and max torque of 420 Nm. It is mated to a 10-speed automatic gearbox, which is segment-first. The transmission packs in advanced features such as progressive range selection for improved handling in an off-road environment and real-time adaptive algorithms for fast acceleration. Endeavour’s BS6 engine also offers improved fuel efficiency of up to 14%.
In comparison, Toyota Fortuner BS6 gets its power from a 2.8-litre four-cylinder diesel engine. When mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, the engine churns out 175 ps and 420 Nm. Customers opting for 6-speed automatic transmission can boost torque output to 450 Nm.
