2020 Hyundai Creta arrives at dealership in China – Fully revealed on video

All new generation of the Hyundai Creta has now gone on sale in China, where it is priced from about Rs 13 lakhs. India launch of the new 2020 Hyundai Creta will take place at the Auto Expo in February next year.

Compared tp the current Creta, the new gen Creta is completely different; from the outside as well as on the inside. Its exterior design elements which are based on the Hyundai Palisade SUV, which is the largest Hyundai SUV on sale today.

2020 Hyundai Creta design highlights include a larger front grille, headlamp setup below the bonnet lip, LED DRLs on top of the projector headlamps, LED tail lamps, shark fin antenna, etc. The new Creta will sit on 17” machine cut dual tone alloy wheels. Interiors also get detailed which show off a new steering wheel design, compact and horizontally positioned central air vents, a large floating central display and fully digital instrument cluster with twin segment screens with a centrally positioned MID.

The screen on the left shows speedometer and fuel level while the right hand side screen sports a tachometer and engine temperature bar. Safety features include electric parking brake with auto hold function, a 360 degree camera, cruise control.

It also gets manual height adjustable front seats, ORVM with camera – to give driver display of side view when indicator is turned on (similar feature is also on offer with Kia Seltos in India), etc. Overall quality, fit and finish has improved by a huge margin in the 2020 Creta.

As compared to the current Creta on sale in India, the upcoming model stands longer and wider. It measures 4,300mm in length, 1,790mm in width and 1,620mm in height while wheelbase is at 2,610mm, around 20mm longer as compared to the current counterpart. This translates into more space and comfort for passengers.

2020 Hyundai ix25 will get powered by the same engine options we have seen on the Kia Seltos. These are 2 petrol and 1 diesel engine options. All are BS6 compliant from Day 1. The 1.4 liter turbo petrol engine offers 140 PS power and 242 Nm torque. It is mated to either a 6MT or 7 DCT.

The 1.5 liter naturally aspirated petrol engine will be capable of 115 PS power and 144 Nm torque. It gets mated to CVT or 6 MT. The 1.5 liter turbo diesel engine will deliver 115 PS power and 250 Nm torque. It is mated to either a 6 MT or 6 AT. Expect price to be in the Rs 10-15 lakh range for the 5 seater 2020 Creta. Later, a 7 seater Creta variant will also be launched, to take on the likes of Mahindra XUV500.
