Mahindra Navistar Automotives Limited has reached a historic peak with its 5000th truck which rolled out from the company’s Chakan plant. The company which is a joint venture between Mahindra and Mahindra and International Truck & Engine Corporation has 6 to 7 new products liked up for the coming year as they make deeper inroads into the Indian truck market.
Though customers took their time to accept Mahindra Navistar trucks, the company has realigned their product strategy in keeping with customer’s demands. This instantly paid off resulting in increased demand and now the company has also introduced a MN 24 with 170hp which offers better fuel efficiency. According to the company every third customer among the top 100 fleet operators is its customer while 33% of them have given the company repeat orders three times more than their original demand.
To ensure customer satisfaction Mahindra Navistar offers a four year unlimited mileage warranty on their vehicles and promises to get trucks up and running in 48 hours or else pay customers Rs.1000 per day. The company is also hoping to increase their dealership base from a present 50 to 80 and service points from current 1000 to 1800 by the end of next year.
Mahindra Navistar is also introduced a few trucks for the South African markets which are currently under test and will be ready in the next two years. The company serves the right hand drive market of SAARC countries and South Africa but is also concentrating on bringing out a left hand driver version for the left Hand Drive Market and special cabs for South Africa.

Mahindra Navistar Automotives Limited (MNAL), a part of the US 15.4 billion Mahindra Group today announced the roll out of its 5000th truck from its state-of-the-art plant at Chakan in Maharashtra. The company has reached this milestone in a very short span of time since commencement of production. In addition, the 4500 trucks running on Indian roads have clocked more than 8 Crore kms under various application, pan-India.
During this eventful period, Mahindra Navistar has also been conferred the No. 1 rank in TNS Truck Track 2012 in the LCV load and mini-bus segment and joint No. 1 position in the HCV Truck (MAV segment). Earlier-on, the company had announced its pan-India commercial launch in December 2011. Mahindra Navistar also pioneered the first ever CV industry award to honor the heroes of the Indian transportation industry through its Mahindra Navistar Transport Excellence Awards – the first of any such award within the Indian trucking industry.
