The Dubai Police fleet boasts of some outstanding models of superfast cars like Bugatti Veyron, Aston Martin One-77, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, Ferrari FF, BMW M6 GranCoupe, Lexus RC F, Nissan GT-R, Audi R8, Bentley Continental and a Lamborghini. This surely must be stinging the heart of many police departments across the world, more so to the neighbouring Abu Dhabi police department.
But, they can have some solace now. Abu Dhabi Police have taken possession of a new Rolls-Royce Phantom – yes, thats the latest addition to Abu Dhabi Police cars list. Rolls-Royce Phantom is fitted with a 6.8 liter V12 engine offering peak power of 453 bhp and peak torque of 720 Nm at 3,500 rpm and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 240 kmph.
Unveiled to the public at one of the most popular malls – Yas Mall this Sunday, the special Rolls Royce for Abu Dhabi Police comes with dual tone finish. The event also marked the opening of the Gulf Cooperation Council Traffic Week in Abu Dhabi. The slogan for the year’s traffic safety campaign is ‘Your Choice Determines Your Destiny’.
So if you are thinking that the addition of Rolls Royce might increase the crime rate (which thief would not fancy a ride in a Rolls Royce?), then there is slight correction. The Phantom in white and burgundy red with a 999 number plate will not be used for regular policing duty such as chasing criminals and other law and order functions, but will be used to promote tourism in the capital.
