2019 Ducati Hypermotard 950 India launch price Rs 12 L

Thrill seekers have something exciting coming their way, as Ducati Hypermotard 950 has been launched in India. Set to be the replacement for Hypermotard 939, the new Hypermotard packs in a new engine, chassis, suspension and fly-by-wire technology. The new model was showcased at 2018 EICMA and it comes in two variants, Hypermotard 950 and Hypermotard 950 SP.

Ducati Hypermotard 950 carries on with the legacy of the original Hypermotard 1100, featuring an aggressive, minimalistic design, all while offering unlimited fun and excitement to users.

Its core is inspired by competition motard style and it has retained its sporty character, as evident in its wide handlebar, lean sides and reduced weight for improved agility.

Both variants share the same engine, a 937 cc, fuel-injected unit that generates 114 hp of max power @ 9,000 rpm and 96 Nm of max torque at 7,250 rpm. Engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission. Chassis configuration is different for both variants, with the premium Hypermotard 950 SP offering Ohlins fully adjustable USD forks at the front.

Standard model comes with Marzocchi aluminium fully-adjustable USD forks. Similarly, 950 standard variant comes with Sachs monoshock unit at the rear, whereas 950 SP features Ohlins monoshock. Tyres and wheels are also different for both variants. At 890 mm, SP variant is 20 mm taller than the standard model. Weighing 176 kg, SP variant is also lighter than standard model by 2 kg.

Braking duties are performed by Monobloc Brembo callipers, working in conjunction with Bosch Cornering ABS. Other common features shared by the two variants include full-TFT colour display, tapered aluminium handlebars, USB power socket, day time running lights (DRLs), power modes, and removable passenger footpegs.

SP variant has some additional features such as Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) and carbon fibre front mudguard and timing belt covers. Common safety features include Ducati Traction Control (DTC) EVO and Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO.

Sergi Canovas, Managing Director of Ducati India said, “Hypermotard range has been loved and appreciated by riders who look for a fun and adrenalin-packed motorcycle. The new Hypermotard 950 inherits the sport and fearless characteristics which aligns to the personality of a rider who wants pure fun. It does not confine itself to a supermoto bike alone but rather comes with the performance of a dirt bike and soul of a sports bike. It’s a perfect choice for riders who’re looking for a thrilling yet sophisticated motorcycle.”
