2019 Honda Activa BS6 specs leak – Launch on 11th Sep

For Honda, Activa is a scooter beyond compare. Over the years, the company has gone from one gen to another, and now Honda Activa in BSVI avatar is ready for sales. Honda had unveiled the Activa BS6 back in June this year.

They were all set to claim the title of becoming India’s first two wheeler company to unveil India’s first BS6 two wheeler. But, Hero MotoCorp spoiled their party by announcing Splendor BS6, just a few hours before Honda unveiled their BS6 Activa.

Now, Honda is getting ready to launch the BS6 Activa this month – on 11th Sep; and so is Hero getting ready to launch Splendor BS6. Will Hero beat Honda once again – as both want to become the first to launch a BS6 two wheeler in India.

Activa BS6 scooters are the company’s first compliant vehicle range before BSVI norms are mandated by April 1, 2020. Now, thanks to a govt document, the specs of this new BS6 Honda Activa have leaked, which can be seen in the image above.

Honda Activa 125cc HET BSVI PGM-FI engine brings with it eSP (Enhanced Smart Power). Use of an ACG starter ensures a silent start. A new digital analogue metre displays real-time informatics. Convenience features include Idling stop system, and side-stand indicator with engine inhibitor.

In its new avatar, Activa BSVI scooter features a restyled LED position lamp, front chrome chest, and embossed Activa 125 logo on tail light. To sweeten the deal, Honda is offering a 6-year warranty package (3 years standard + 3 years optional extended warranty) on Activa 125 BS6.

Max power output is listed as 6.10 kW (8.29 PS) at 6,500 rpm. For the outgoing BSIV model that number peaked at 6.35kw (8.52 BHP) at 6,500 rpm, and max torque of 10.54Nm and 5,000 rpm.

Honda Activa 125 BSVI sits on a wheelbase of 1,260 mm. Length, width and height are listed at 1,850 mm, 707 mm and 1,170 mm, respectively. Options available beyond base model wheels includes – alloy wheels; front disc brake option and rear drum with alloy wheels.

A price revision of about 10-15 percent can be expected over the current Honda Activa 125, which would take the new offering’s price near the vicinity of 65k. Scooters in the segment include – TVS NTorq 125, Aprilia SR 125, Hero Maestro Edge and Suzuki Burgman Street 125.

Colour choices include – Rebel Red Metallic, Black, Heavy Grey Metallic, Midnight Blue Metallic, Pearl Precious White and Majestic Brown Metallic.

Along with presenting a quitter vehicle, emphasis is laid on fuel efficiency, and a cleaner bike. Activa 125 BSVI features an external fuel filler cap with a 4 in one ignition switch, and redesigned LED headlamps with reflectors.

Available as a Honda Activa 125 base model with front disc and rear drum with alloy wheels, and its two variants, price will vary depending on model type. With the latest details being made available in public domain, it’s a clear indication of a launch soon to be. Keeping in mind the popularity of Activa, and move to BSVI in quick time, HMSI should have no trouble in dwarfing competition in the segment.
