First showcased as a concept back at the 2014 Auto Expo, Datsun Red-Go has been finally launched in India today. Offered to customers in the entry level segment, Redi-Go will rival the likes of Renault Kwid, Maruti Alto 800 and Hyundai Eon.
A total of 5 variants – D, A, T, T (O), and S are on offer in five color options that include Lime, Ruby, Silver, White and Brown.

Redi-Go is powered by a 799cc iSAT – Intelligent Spark Automated Technology engine offering 53 bhp peak power at 5,678 rpm and 72 Nm torque at 4,386 rpm mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox. Acceleration from 0-100 kmph is achieved in 15.98 seconds. Mileage is same as that seen on the Renault Kwid at 25.17 kmpl (ARAI certified).
Dimensions stand at 3429 mm in length, 1560 mm in width, and 1541 mm in height. It sits on a wheelbase of 2348 mm while best in class ground clearance is at 185 mm. Interiors are comfortable for upto 4 adults while boot capacity is at 222 liters.

Safety features include remote fuel lid opener and tailgate opener, rear door child safety lock and driver side airbag. It also gets body colored bumpers, chrome grille and premium fabric upholstery. Speakers, power steering, power windows and USB/AUX/radio/FM/AM player are also seen on board the new Datsun redi-GO.
Datsun redi-GO is being produced from Renault Nissan alliance plant in Oragadam, Chennai where a third shift has been added and running to full capacity.

Datsun is confident that the re di-GO will be a game changer in the segment, and help them achieve higher sales in the country. As of now, Datsun sales average at about 1,500 – 2,000 units every month.
