Hero Motors, a completely owned subsidiary of Hero Group, whose flagship company is Hero MotoCorp, has revealed that they have procured a deal from Ducati to manufacture transmission components. This is not the first time Hero Motors will be manufacturing components for international brands. The company already does that for the likes of BMW and Harley Davidson.
This is a huge development for the company as they forge a strong alliance with the two wheeler leader in global markets while it also draws Hero’s expertise to the fore.
Hero Motors follows the system of best quality along with zero ppm. To help it maintain this standard of quality, the company is investing INR 150 crores in setting up state of the art infrastructure. Similar investments will be channeled towards enhanced operations in international markets as well. The company has an office set up in Vienna, Austria and is now mulling entry into Europe.

Speaking about the group’s flagship company, Hero MotoCorp has come a long way since it parted ways with Honda Motor Company 5 years ago in January 2011. The JV lasted 26 years and was extremely successful while it transformed India into a leading motorcycle market.
Despite the split and apprehensions which arose there from, Hero MotoCorp climbed the charts and has retained its dominant position in the motorcycle segment. Hero MotoCorp is currently the largest two wheeler maker in the country commanding a 39% market share. The company sold 6,74,961 units in September 2016, up 11% as compared to Honda sales which increased 31% to 5,39,662 units over the year ago period.
