Ducati Scrambler is reborn: Unveiled at Intermot 2014 (Video and Photos)

Unlike their other bikes in the line-up, the Scrambler is built for the masses. Ducati designers have tried hard to make the new Scrambler look like the original one. And, they have succeeded in doing that. One look at the new Scrambler, and you immediately have a Déjà vu moment. Where have I seen this before? Though the new Scrambler looks like the old, engine and chassis is completely new, which makes it even more tempting.

Powering the new Ducati Scrambler is the same 803 cc L-Twin engine which powers the existing Monster 796. It generates peal power of 75 hp at 8250 rpm and a peak torque of 68 Nm at 5750 rpm. Power is delivered by a six speed transmission. Front features Pirelli MT 60 RS 110/80 ZR18 while rear has Pirelli MT 60 RS 180/55 ZR17 tyres.

Sitting on Ducati’s signature Trellis frame, the Scrambler weighs 186 kgs. Offered in four trims, Icon, Classic, Full Throttle, and Urban Enduro. Features on offer include LED lights, Brembo brakes with two channel ABS, multi function digital instrument panel, upside down front shock absorbers with Kayaba suspension, and rear monoshock. Price starts from $8,595 (Rs 5.32 lakhs), making it the most affordable Ducati motorcycle.
