New Honda CBR250RR has been patented in India

Last year, Honda Motorcycles India had stated that it is not feasible to launch the CBR250RR in the country as it will require a huge amount of investment. Even if the company manages to launch the bike in India, it will be priced in the range of INR 4-5 lakh, which is a lot of money for a 250cc bike.

But, in spite of this statement, it has not stopped the company to go ahead and patent the bike in India. A document from the patent office reveals that Honda has patented the CBR250RR in India.

Set to rival the likes of Yamaha R3, KTM RC390 and Kawasaki Ninja 300, Honda CBR250RR sports an aggressive styling. It receives upside down telescopic front forks, petal disc brakes, and dual channel ABS. It also gets advanced features such as LED headlamps and tail lamps besides a fully digital instrument panel and state of the art ride-by-wire technology.

New Honda CBR250RR is powered by a 250cc, liquid cooled, twin cylinder, 4 stroke petrol engine mated to a 6 speed gearbox. This engine delivers 38.7 PS and 23.3 Nm, making it the most powerful 250cc engine in the world. It has a top speed of 185 kmph.

Speaking about price of the Honda CBR250RR, in Indonesia, where the bike is manufactured, price starts from INR 3.2 lakh, while going to INR 3.6 lakh for the top of the line ABS variant.
