Launched in India today, the new Mercedes Benz GLC SUV is priced from INR 50.7 lakh, ex-showroom Pune. Built on the same platform as the new generation C Class, GLC was first showcased in India at the 2016 Auto Expo.
Joining the big lineup of Mercedes Benz SUVs in India, the new GLC is positioned above the entry level GLA and below the mid-sized GLE. It measures 4,656mm in length, 1,644mm in height, 2,096mm in width. It has a wheelbase of 2,874mm and a boot space of 550 liters, which can be augmented to 1,600 liters.
Mercedes Benz GLC SUV comes to India as a completely built unit (CBU). It is powered by a 2,143cc turbo diesel engine and a 1,991 turbo petrol engine. The former is capable of 170bhp power and 400 Nm torque while the petrol engine offers 245 bhp power and 370 Nm torque. Both engines are mated to 9 speed 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission.
Price of the diesel variant starts from INR 50.7 lakh, while that of the petrol variant starts from INR 50.9 lakh, ex-showroom, Pune.
Exterior features boast of LED headlamps with integrated DRLs, flared wheel arches and a subtle design language. At the rear, it gets new design elements with wider tail lamps and new tailgate. Interiors of the new Mercedes Benz GLC follow a contemporary styling.
It is seen with leather upholstery, three spoke steering wheel and Mercedes Benz COMAND system. The GLC also gets a central console finished in gloss wood while features such as climate control, sun roof, airbags, cruise control, reverse camera and powered front seats are also evident.
