Suzuki Access drum brake variant gets alloys – Takes on Honda Activa

Suzuki Motorcycle India has launched a refreshed version of Access 125 scooter, as the company gears up to meet the upcoming safety norms which has made it mandatory for scooters to have CBS / ABS. The drum brake variant of Access 125 has received CBS. Price is Rs 56, 667, ex-sh Delhi. For alloy wheel with drum brake, price is Rs 59,891, ex-sh.

2019 Suzuki Access 125 is a midsized scooter, ideally designed for the Indian road conditions. Suzuki Access 125 has been a popular gear-less 125cc scooter in the country, and the refreshed model comes in with even more attractive features and retro themed styling.

Mr. Devashish Handa, Vice President- Sales, Marketing & After-Sales, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. 2019 Suzuki Access 125 is powered by a 125cc, 4 stroke engine. This engine is tuned to offer 8 bhp power at 7,000 rpm and 10.2 Nm torque at 5,000 rpm mated to an automatic transmission. Fuel efficiency is claimed at 64 kmpl, thanks to Suzuki Eco Performance tech, which reduces friction inside the engine.

New Suzuki Access 125 will compete head on with the Honda Activa 125. It receives new chrome headlamps with a 3D logo, revised side panels and wraparound LED tail lamp. It also gets clear lens indicators, a new front apron and new alloy wheels.

The new instrument cluster includes a part analog and part digital display while the scooter gets an optional DC socket, two trip meters and Suzuki Easy Start System. Suzuki Access 125 sports a 6 liter fuel tank and has the longest seat in its segment with a 21 liter under seat storage capacity.

Measuring 1,870mm in length, 655mm in width, 1,160mm in height the new Suzuki Access 125 sits on a wheelbase measuring 1,265mm. It has ground clearance of 160mm and kerb weight of 102 kg. It is offered in two variants of Drum Brake and Disc Brake Variant. It competes with the Vespa SXL 125, VXL 125 and Honda Activa 125.
