First batch of Tata Nexon Electric SUVs delivered to Owners

Launched in India on 28th Jan 2020, deliveries of the Nexon Electric have finally started from March 2020

Deliveries of India’s cheapest electric SUV, Tata Nexon EV has now started. First batch of the Nexon electric SUVs have already been delivered to multiple owners across India. The exact number of cars delivered by Tata is not available. Price of the Tata Nexon EV starts from Rs 13.99 lakhs for base variant, and goes all the way to Rs 15.99 lakhs. All prices are ex-sh.

The 5 seater Nexon EV is presented in XM, XZ+ and XZ+ Lux variants and in 3 colour options of Signature Teal Blue, Moonlit Silver and Glacier White. It measures 3,994mm in length and 1,811mm in width with a 2,498mm long wheelbase.

Based on the Impact Design 2.0 Language, its exteriors will be dominated by a wide central grille with Tata Motors signature Tri Arrows, a Humanity Line running across lamp to lamp and several chrome accents which lend a premium touch to its exterior makeup. It sits on 16” diamond cut alloy wheels and get an electric tailgate.

The interiors features a semi digital instrument cluster with a TFT display, auto air conditioning and a sunroof. It will also be seen with a Harman touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and connected car technologies with over 30 smart features which can be accessed through the specially designed ZConnect application.

This app offers information on battery charge level, range, charging history and direction to the nearest charging stations. Retaining the Nexon Global NCAP ratings, the Nexon EV complies with the latest full frontal, side impact and offset impact crash regulations. It comes in with outstanding safety features of dual airbags, ABS, EBD and CSC – cornering stability control.

Nexon EV has been tested across all terrains in India for about 1 million kms. Company claims that the car is fit for driving on the roughest of terrains in the country, the highest altitudes and the steepest gradients. It is also able to withstand the most extreme of weather conditions.

Tata Nexon EV is powered by an IP67 certified 30.2 kWh lithium ion battery pack. The 3 phase permanent magnet synchronous motor offers 129 PS power and 245 Nm torque and the company is offering an 8 year/ 1.60 lakh km warranty on the battery. A fully charged Nexon EV claims to offer a range of 312 kms. To achieve 0-100% charging via regular socket, it will take about 10 hours. Using a fast charger, 0-80% charging can be done in 1 hour.
