The Ampere Reo Elite targets urban millennials with its compact and sporty design. The e-scooter features edgy front apron with sporty headlight, boomerang shaped decals on the handlebar cowl, contoured seat, steeply tapering body tail section, black grab rail and alloy wheels.
The feature highlights include a digital instrument cluster with bold speedometer display, USB charging port on the front apron and an underseat storage space big enough to hold a helmet.
Being a scooter with restricted top-speed of 25 kmph, the Ampere Reo Elite electric scooter does not require license or registration. Powered by a 250 watts hub-mounted BLDC motor, the e-scooter has a claimed range of 55 to 60 km depending on the riding condition. The battery is a 48 v 20 Ah lead-acid unit which takes 8 hours to achieve full charge.
The Reo Elite e-scooter is suspended by means of telescopic fork at the front and coil springs at the rear. Braking is taken care by 110 mm drums at either end. The standard 10-inch wheels comes shod with 3.00-10 tyres. Customers can also opt for 12-inchers. The urban runabout tips the scales at 86 kg.
The Ampere Reo Elite emerges as a viable mode of transport for young urban commuters like school and college goers. Ampere offers 1 year warranty on the battery. The electric scooter is available in four color options – red, black, blue and white (all in glossy finish). The Reo Elite will be competing with similar low-power e-scooters from Hero Electric, Okinawa, etc.
Ampere Vehicles recently crossed the 50,000 sales milestone, thanks to its flagship Zeal e-scooter gaining faster acceptance. The Coimbatore-based EV maker has around 20% market share in the e-scooter segment. With Greeves Cotton’s support, the brand would be aiming to consolidate its business in the coming months.
