The Audi A6 3.0T launch is the first to grace the Indian car market this August. A premium segment bigwig, the all new premium saloon is very competitively priced especially if one were to take a glance at pre launch price predications. The 2.0 TDI base diesel model bears a price tag of Rs 37.7 lakh while the 3.0 TDI Quattro four wheel drive is priced at Rs 46.95. The base petrol variant, 2.8 FSI is priced at Rs 39.9 lakh and the 3.0 liter TFSI petrol is priced at Rs 47 lakh. All mentioned prices are ex-showroom Delhi listings.

The new A6 3.0T is supercharged with direct injection and not a six speed auto box that previous Audi A6 owners are used to. This seven speed twin-clutch transmission will go from 0-100 kph in six seconds and 0-200 kph in 24.32 seconds. The Quattro four wheel drive petrol will also register top speed of 250 kmph, offers 50bhp more than the diesel, gets to 100 quicker than the diesel, and will average 7kmpl.

The new A6 3.0T twin-clutch unit with paddle shifters makes gear shifts a smooth operator. The Audi A6 efficiency mode touch pad aided MMI system does help but whether driving on Efficiency’ or Comfort mode, don’t expect a wide change in numbers. The touch pad facilitates easy access to media and inbuilt phone apps. Fitted with a start/stop system, fuel economy isn’t really the forte of big premium cars but here’s a luxury . The Quattro system aids grip and control and you’re looking at are standard 225/55-R17 rubber tires. They are downsized probably with the intension of aiding fuel economy.

Design frontiers haven’t failed, and though you’ll miss the powered steering adjust, there is four-zone climate control, powered seats with memory, adaptive suspension, reverse camera, Bluetooth connectivity, and it’s keyless. The new Audi A6 3.0T comes with a great engine, and is a quick petrol luxury car.
The Seven speed automatic transmission is featured in all variants. The 3.0 TFSI and 3.0 TDI come with S-Tronic and the 2.0 TDI base diesel model and base petrol variant 2.8 FSI have the multitronic option. With the base models, one can get to top speeds of 240 kph and 222 kph for the petrol, and diesel respectively.
