According to Twinkle Krishna, Vice President, Operations, Audi Chennai, Audi Q3 facelift and A6 facelift will be launched in second quarter of 2015 (April-June), while next generation Q7 will roll out in the fourth quarter (October- December) of the year.Mercedes Benz India and Audi India have been fighting for the gold big time and last year’s score set them apart by just 650 units with four-rings taking the lead, again. Both luxury premium carmakers have highly competitive product portfolio. Mercedes Benz finished 2014 calendar year crossing the 10,000 sales milestone (at 10,201) for the first time in its history in India, while Audi reported sales of 10,851 units. In 2013, the former billed only 9,003 units, while Audi managed to cross the crease recording sales of 10,002 units.
Q3 compact SUV is the highest selling model for the German automaker in India, accounting for over one-fifth of sales by volume. Hence it might seem safe to assume that its facelift version would bring higher sales for the company to close 2015 with a bang. But, the glory of Q3 may be shadowed by new A3 sedan that was launched last year, as it is the most affordable model from the brand. Either way, Audi is looking at an exciting year. But will Mercedes GLA and upcoming CLA manage to trump Audi’s continual annual victory in 2015?
