Bajaj Dominar 250 will sit below the Dominar 400 in company line-up and gets a new Red colour option
The Dominar family gets bigger with the launch of the new Bajaj Dominar 250. Priced from Rs 1.6 lakhs ex-sh, the new Dominar 250 is about Rs 30,000 cheaper than the current Dominar 400. It is launched with a BS6 engine and two colour options of Canyon Red and Vine Black.
The Bajaj Dominar 250 sports an all LED headlamp set up, all digital instrument cluster and a muscular fuel tank. It will also receive a small windscreen, engine cowl, stylish tail section and signature LED tail lamps. It gets twin barrel exhaust, alloy wheels and split seats and new colour scheme.

BS6 compliant new Dominar 250 is now available across all Bajaj Auto dealerships in dual channel ABS variant with Canyon Red and Vine Black colour options at INR 1,60,000/- ex showroom Delhi.

While borrowing styling from the Dominar 400, the Bajaj Dominar 250 takes its engine from the KTM 250 Duke. The Dominar 250 gets powered by a 249 cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled, 4 Stroke, DOHC, fuel injected engine offering 27 PS peak power at 8,500 rpm and 23.5 Nm torque at 6,500 rpm – mated to a 6 speed transmission.
Suspension set up will include USD forks in the front and monoshock at the rear. It will get smaller tyre sizes, different swing arm and regular rear view mirrors as compared to its 400cc counterpart so to keep prices in check. Braking will be via disc brakes on both wheels coupled with dual channel ABS as standard. Bajaj Dominar 250 will compete against the Suzuki Gixxer 250, KTM Duke 250, Husqvarna 250 and Yamaha FZ25.
Bajaj Auto Limited registered sales of 1.46 lakh motorcycles in India in February 2020. This was a de-growth of 21 percent over 1.86 lakh motorcycles sold in February 2019. Exports increased 15 percent to 1.63 lakh units in the past month as against 1.41 lakh units exported in the same month of the previous year taking total sales to 3.10 lakh units, down 5 percent as against 3.27 lakh units sold in February 2019. Launch of Dominar 250 is expected to boost sales this month.
