After making their fans wait for months at a stretch, Bajaj Auto seems to be ready with a lot of new Pulsar motorcycles.
Bajaj Auto launched the new Pulsar RS 200 motorcycle in India hardly two weeks ago, on 26th March. Now, Rajiv Bajaj, MD, Bajaj Auto, has revealed that the company is all set to launch yet another Pulsar motorcycle on 14th April 2015! That’s a week from now. And after that, Rajiv Bajaj adds, they have three more Pulsar launches; one each in May, June, and July.
Sadly, there is no official word on which Pulsar motorcycle is going to be launched on 14th April. But, considering that the Pulsar 200 AS has already entered production, there are higher chances of it getting launched. The other motorcycle could be 150 AS, which has been spotted on many occasions recently.
Bajaj Pulsar 200 AS (AS stands for Adventure Sport) is powered by the same 199.5cc single cylinder liquid cooled engine, which we have seen on RS200. This engine delivers 24.5 PS power at 9750 rpm, and 18.6 Nm torque at 8000 rpm. Mated to a six speed gearbox, and fuel injection system, aboard the RS200, it delivers a top speed of 141 kmph. We expect 200 AS to have a similar setup of engine and transmission, but top speed will be slightly lower.
Features on board the 200 AS includes, wind protector up front, semi fairing, disc brakes (no ABS), single projector lamp, and same mud guard as seen on Pulsar 220 at the rear. Apart from these, tyres, seats, handle bar, instrument console, remains same as the RS 200. Speaking about launch price, expect 200 AS to be priced in between NS 200 and RS 200. We expect the Pulsar 200 AS price to start in the range of Rs 1-1.05 lakhs (ex-showroom).
