Bajaj Pulsar 200 AS spied on video, dangerously close

Bajaj Pulsar 200 AS has become the next victim of continual spying, and going beyond, it has been caught on video up close, disturbing the test rider in the process.

A word of advice to readers. Spy photographers should be a bit more careful. The person who has shot the new video, gets dangerously close to the test mule, which could have also resulted in an accident.

The new model is expected to launch in India this year, following Pulsar 200 SS and 150 NS, at slightly higher price than 200 NS.

Bajaj Pulsar 200 AS does not seem to have any difference in riding position compared to 200 NS. Touted as an Adventure Sports model, higher handlebar position and more relaxed posture were expected. Looks like everything about the 200 AS is cosmetic change from 200 NS, offering no functional benefit to the rider. Only difference rider may feel is the fixed focus of headlight on road, that will not follow handlebar yaw.

New front semi-fairing, high visor and projector head lamp for high beam round off the prominent distinction between Pulsar 200 AS and NS. Rest of underpinnings, critical components and 23.5 PS producing 199 cc carbureted engine mated to 6-speed manual gearbox would all remain the same in Bajaj Pulsar 200 AS.

To be manufactured at Bajaj Auto’s plant in Pimpri, the new Pulsar 200 AS will be launched by June 2015 in the country. It has also been showcased outside India, which was also the first sighting of 200 AS.

According to Overdrive, the first sighting of Bajaj Pulsar 200 AS, which was believed to be in Indonesia, was actually in Bajaj’s Chakan facility, and the Indonesian bikers were flown in for the presentation.
