A video has been shared online which shows that a Bajaj Pulsar NS200 beats the a Duke 200 in a race. As per the uploader of the video, YouTuber Ayush Verma, the new Pulsar NS 200 continues to pull away after touching 130 kmph, while the KTM Duke 200 gets limited at about 133 kmph.
This is strange, but not impossible. Strange because the KTM Duke 200 is a more powerful and lighter machine. It also has a better acceleration time as compared to the Pulsar NS 200. But in spite of all this, it is the more affordable and crowd favourite Pulsar NS 200 which wins the duel. Watch the video below.
In other news regarding the Pulsar NS 200, what was expected to be launched in India, has now been launched in Turkey. Bajaj Auto has launched the most feature-rich and powerful variant of the NS 200 in Turkey. It gets an advanced and more powerful 194 cc single cylinder liquid cooled engine that delivers 24.5 PS power at 9500 rpm and 18.3 Nm at 8,000 rpm. Mated to a 6 speed gearbox, it has a kerb weight of 145 kgs.
Launched in India earlier this year, the new Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 is priced from about INR 98,000, ex-showroom here. It comes with disc brakes in the front and rear, but misses out on ABS, and FI. The India-spec variant is powered by a 199 cc engine which delivers 23.5 PS at 9,500 rpm and 18.3 Nm torque at 8,000 rpm. Mated to a six speed transmission, it has a kerb weight of 152 kgs.
This means that the India spec Pulsar NS 200 is not only heavier, it is also less powerful. This has resulted in the export-spec Pulsar to accelerate faster, have a higher top speed, and a much better braking system. Export spec is compliant with EURO 4 emission norms, while the one in India is compliant with BS4 emission norms.
A naked sports bike in the entry level segment, the new Pulsar NS 200 is offered in the entry level segment in the country. It is not clear if Bajaj will launch this more updated and powerful variant of the Pulsar NS200 in India. In case they do decide to launch this in India, it will definitely be a welcome move.
In Turkey, Pulsar NS 200 without FI and ABS is priced from 8,870 Lira (INR 1.6 lakh) while the FI and ABS variant costs 11,300 Lira (INR 2.03 lakh).
Speaking about top speed, the Pulsar NS 200 is capable of reaching of speeds of up to 200 kmph, with tuned engine and other stock setup. The video has been recorded in Turkey by Hüseyin Akkn. He has modified his P200NS after a lot of research and experimentation. This is what he said on his FB post –
“Dear friends,
BAJAJ Pulsar NS 200 178 km7/ph modifiyed in Turkey, maybe the world could be a first. We have done research and experimentation for a long time. And we still work for faster. This speed is not a coincidence. We did mastery and calculations. Work hard work hard work. Thank you for your interest.”
