Bajaj expects Pulsar sales to double in the performance motorcycle segment

With three new Pulsar launched in a span of twenty days, Bajaj now aims for a hike in sales.

Bajaj Auto Limited has launched three new Pulsar motorcycles – RS200, AS150 and AS200. These are now on sale along with the existing range of Pulsar motorcycles, this includes 135 LS, 150, 180, 200 and 220. How will the launch of new Pulsars, will affect overall Pulsar sales?

Speaking about sales, Bajaj aims to sell 2,500 units of RS200, 5,000 units of AS200 and 10,000 units of AS150 every month. Thus implying the three new Pulsar motorcycles to generate 2.10 lakh in sales this fiscal. Another interesting analysis from this data is that, in the performance segment (200 and above cc), where Bajaj only had NS200 and 220F till now, they will double their Pulsar sales.

For FY14, Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and 220F managed to register sales of 74,000 in India, and 81,000 in export (FY15 figures are not yet revealed). With the AS200 and RS200, Bajaj aims to sell another 90,000 units this fiscal (FY16) in the performance segment. Thereby doubling their sales in the 200cc and above segment in the motorcycle industry.

Speaking about the two new Pulsar Adventure Sport variants – Pulsar AS150 priced at INR 79,000 and Pulsar AS200 priced at INR 91,550 – ex showroom Delhi. The Pulsar Adventure Sports range receives muscular fairing and extended visor equipping the bikes for long distance travel while appealing to a younger and sports loving set of buyers in the country. AS150 and AS200 receive segment first projector headlamps while the AS150 is powered by a 149.5cc twin spark, 4-valve, air-cooled DTSi engine and AS200 receives a199.5cc triple spark, 4-valve, liquid-cooled DTSi engine.
