Benelli has 1,130 pending orders in India

Italian sportsbike manufacturer, Benelli began India operations back in March 2015. Within six months, the brand has seen immense success. In a chat with RushLane, DSK Benelli revealed that they have delivered 780 bikes in these six months. That is a huge number for a premium motorcycle brand in India. What comes as a bigger surprise is that the company has 1,130 pending orders!

In India, Benelli sells five motorcycles. The five Benelli model line-up in India includes a 300 cc bike, two 600 cc models, one 899 cc bike and one 1130 cc bike. From the five models, 300cc and 600cc models come in as CKDs from China while the 899cc and 1130cc bikes are imported into the country from Italy to be assembled at the Benelli India plant in Wai near Pune. The entire range of Benelli India super bikes are priced from INR 2.99 lakhs for the 300cc engine to INR 11.81 lakhs for the 1130cc engine.

Benelli TreK1130 Amazonas will be launched in India by Jan 2016

Known as DSK-Benelli in India, the brand has chalked out future plans which will help them increase sales even further. The first part is to increase the number of dealerships. As of now, the company has 14 dealers, networked at all major Indian cities. The plan now is to launch themselves in tier 2 cities. These include Surat, Kolhapur, Coimbatore and many more. Their aim is to have 25 dealers across India by March 2016.

Apart from opening dealerships, DSK Benelli also plans to launch two new bikes by January 2016. The first will be in the form of entry level TNT 25 and the second and TreK Amazonas 1130. The former will be launched latest by 1st week of Dec 2015, while the latter will be launched by January 2016.

The company will also launch ABS versions of their 300 cc and 600 cc offerings in India by end of this year. These will be priced upto INR 40,000 more than non-ABS variants on sale as of now. With new launches and more dealerships, DSK Benelli aims to sell 4,000 motorcycles in India this fiscal.
