Benelli TNT 150 naked bike makes video debut – India launch?
New Benelli TNT 150 naked motorcycle made global debut at the trade fair in Jakarta, Indonesia back in 2015. Expected to be launched in India this year, here is the first video of the new Benelli TNT 150.
Styled to be the younger sibling of TNT250, new TNT 150 measures 2,040 mm in length, 780 mm in width, 1,070 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 1,260 mm. Design highlights include simple headlamp with minimal bodywork, new fuel tank with typical TNT extension panels, a color coordinated belly pan, split sets and a stubby silencer. The cycle parts are finished in black. The semi digital instrument console has been derived from the bigger TNT 250.
The carbureted 148 cc air-cooled single-cylinder 2-valve engine has a compression ratio of 9.2:1 and is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Power and torque outputs have not been released yet.
Designed to target the premium 150cc motorcycle segment, Benelli TNT 150 makes do with a normal tubular diamond frame chassis instead of trellis frames used by bigger Benellis. The naked bike is suspended by front telescopic fork and rear monoshock. The 17-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels are shod with 90/90-17 rubber upfront and 110/90-17 unit at the rear. Braking is courtesy of a single disc upfront and drum unit at the rear.
Benelli TNT 150 will be pitted against Honda Verza which is the segment leader in Indonesia. Going by competition’s pricing strategy, expect the Italian motorcycle to start at around IDR 18 million (around INR 86,000).
