Benelli Zafferano 250cc scooter spied on test in India

Though under heavy camouflage, various elements of the new Benelli Zafferano 250 EFI were noted while on test in near Pune in India.

Benelli Zafferano 250 EFI is a 250 cc automatic scooter which is already on sale in Jakarta, with a price tag of Rp 45,550,000 (INR 2.18 lakh). It has now been spied on test in India, confirming impending launch.

This new scooter sports a 249.7cc single cylinder engine mated to an automatic transmission. The engine will offer output of 21.07 PS power at 7,000 rpm and 20.83 Nm torque. In terms of braking and performance, Zafferano 250 EFI sports dual disc brake in front and single disc at the rear whereas suspension is via telescopic forks in front and adjustable monoshocks at the rear.

Benelli Zafferano 250 EFI sports a 12 liter capacity fuel tank, 14” alloy wheels with 120 section rubber in the front and 140 section at the rear. It gets twin pod analogue instrument cluster with digital inset. In terms of dimensions, the new Benelli measures 2,168mm in length, 796mm in width and 1,434mm in height. It sits on a wheelbase measuring 1,488mm and gets ground clearance of 103mm. Total weight stands at 155 kgs.

Along with Benelli Zafferano 250 EFI, the Benelli MotoBi-250 Patagonian Eagle was also spotted on test around Pune, indicating the company’s ambitious plans for launch of these two models in the country.

Benelli is one of the fastest going premium two wheeler brand in India. Under the management of the DSK Group in India, they have extensive plans of launching the full range of Benelli in India. As of now, the Benelli India range includes – TNT 25, TNT300, 302R, TNT 600i, and TNT 600 GT. Upcoming launches include TRK 502, MotoBi 250 cruiser, and Zafferano 250 scooter.
