Production version of Bentley Bentayga SUV has been leaked in the form of a 1:18 scale model which was made in China. Though the authenticity of the scale model can’t be verified as of now, it’s common for premium automakers to commission production of official scale models a few months ahead of the product’s world premiere.
The scale model does appears to be an official one as its design elements are consistent with the ones revealed in numerous video teasers. Comparing the final version with the initial EXP-9F concept which received widespread criticism, one can say that Bentley designers have worked really hard on enhancing the overall aesthetics of the brand’s first ever SUV. Signature Bentley design cues such as twin headlamps, handcrafted grille and muscular haunches are all there.
Based on MLB platform which also underpins the latest gen Audi Q7, Bentayga is expected to employ a new twin-turbo W12 6.0-litre petrol motor which will produce an output in the excess of 600 PS, and 900 Nm of torque. A twin-turbo V8 petrol motor borrowed from Continental GT could also be on offer. A plug-in hybrid variant is slated to be launched at a later stage.
Bentley says that it already has several prospective customers lined up for its new flagship product.
