BharatBenz trucks now available in BS-IV versions; bus sales to start in September

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. (DICV) has announced that its entire BharatBenz truck range starting from 9 tonne GVW all the way up to 49 tonne GVW is now available in BS-IV versions across the country.

Compliance with the Indian government’s emission norms has been achieved using Bluetec technology which was tested under Indian conditions for a million kilometers. The German CV giant claims that, in addition to reducing the output of toxic exhaust gases, the new technology also results in enhanced fuel efficiency.

Erich Nesselhauf, Managing Director and CEO, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles stated that with implementing BS-IV throughout the country is the need of the hour. DICV was able to cut time and cost to bring BS-IV compliant vehicles to the market by accessing the parent company’s technology pool.

Market launch of BharatBenz bus range is scheduled for September.

The company also announced that it’s recently unveiled range of BharatBenz front engined (mid-premium) and Mercedes-Benz rear engined (premium) buses will commence sales in September 2015. BharatBenz front engined 9T bus range will be offered in BS-IV avatars for school bus and staff applications.

When the medium and heavy commercial vehicle segment was facing severe downturn in the country, DICV bucked the trend by posting enviable growth rate with its promise of impressive Total Operating Economy. With the introduction of BS-IV truck range and new bus range, DICV is poised to enter next phase of growth.
