Siddharth has denied the fact that he was drunk at the time of the accident and that he even drinks. He has also stated that the vehicle was driven by his driver, Ramesh, and that they were travelling at a reasonable speed of 50-60 kmph. However, CCTV footage of the accident prove otherwise.

Jaipur Commissioner of Police Sanjay Agarwal has confirmed that there were only two persons in the car at the time of the accident and hence Siddharth has been arrested while Jayant has been detailed for questioning. An FIR has been registered on Saturday evening under ICP 304 punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder. The police confirm that the FIR took time as they wanted to avoid any legal loopholes.
