The new BMW G310R, the smallest of the Beemers, has been just unveiled. To be manufactured by TVS Motors in India alongside its rebadged twin, the G310R will be exported to several international markets.

Fully developed by BMW Motorrad in Germany, the G310R’s liquid-cooled motor is tuned to produce a healthy 34 PS at 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. Mated to a 6-speed transmission, the motorcycle is claimed to have a top speed of 144 kmph. The motor is claimed to deliver a fuel efficiency of 36.05 kmpl.

Tipping the scales at 158.5 kg, the G310R offers a comfortable city-friendly ergonomics. The street fighter is equipped with an inverted telescopic fork upfront and a rear monoshock. The alloy wheels come shod with Michelin tyres and are retarded by a single disc bake each. BMW offers dual-channel ABS as standard.
The BMW G310R will have a heavy local content and hence would be priced competitively in India (an ex-showroom price of around INR 3 lakhs). Competition will come from the likes of KTM Duke 390, Kawasaki Z250, Benelli TNT300 and so on.
