BMW India sales for Q1 2018 – 2377 cars sold

Yesterday, BMW India launched the BMW X3 diesel in two variants – Expedition (Rs 49.99L), and Luxury Line (Rs 56.70L), and discussed BMW India sales growth.

Vikram Pawah, President, BMW Group India said, “BMW X3 established the premium mid-size sports activity vehicle segment in India and became a trailblazer with its modern character. The all-new BMW X3 is set to write the next chapter in its success story with an even more striking, dynamic design language, powerful yet efficient drive systems and luxurious equipment. Practical both on and off road, the all-new BMW X3 is fully equipped for the most diverse driving demands, combining everything you need for wherever your day takes you.”

At the launch, BMW Group India prez provided a quick insight into BMW India sales performance for Q1 2018. For Q1 2018, BMW Group India has reported 11 percent growth. This includes 11 percent growth for BMW at 2377 cars sold from Jan – Mar, ’18. Growth for Mini is reported at 15 percent at 136 cars sold. Motorrad sales for the period stand at almost 100 units. BMW Group (including Mini) ended 2017 at 25 percent growth having sold 9,800 units, up from 7,500 units sold through 2017.

BMW attributes its strong performance to three things – It’s strong ‘Power to Win’ strategy; A resolute approach towards it’s implementation; and and an absolute commitment to customers and their needs. BMW’s commitment and belief caters to luxury more than the need to be ‘number one’ in terms of sales in India.

Auto Expo 2018 proved to be the perfect platform for the brand to bring all its companies under one roof. The launches/unveils scheduled at the time were 6 Series Gran Turismo; BMW M5 (CBU); X6 xDrive 35i (petrol); M3 sedan, and M4 coupe. BMW i8 Roadster; and all-new BMW i3s were showcased. Next-gen BMW X3 petrol and BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo diesel will be launched later in the year. BMW plan to launch 5 vehicles through the remainder of 2018.
