BMW M2 Competition is heading to India – Launch soon

BMW M2 is the smallest M car which will be exclusively launched in the ‘Competition Package’.

BMW is all set to bring in the new BMW M2 into India, reveals Car and Bike. This will be the smallest M car on sale in the country where it will compete with the Porsche 718 Cayman and Audi TT.

BMW M2 will be priced from Rs 85 lakhs onwards with prices of options pushing it way above the INR 1 crore mark. Launch is expected in the coming months and apart from standard options, the M Performance Parts include an all carbon fiber roof, large carbon fiber rear spoiler, BMW M Brake Package, carbon finer rear diffuser, side skirts and exhaust tips along with a carbon fiber boot lid.

In addition to that, it will also get 19” forged wheels. To be presented in 5 color options, the BMW M2 in India will be seen with standard 5 spoke M-Sport wheels or optional 19” competition wheels. Seating will be M-Sport leather seats and infotainment options will include Apple CarPlay, a high end Harmon Kardon audio system, BMW Apps and inbuilt navigation.

The BMW M2 will be powered by the same 3 liter twin turbocharged engine seen powering the M3 and M4. This engine offers 405 bhp peak power and 550 Nm peak torque mated to a 7 speed dual clutch automatic transmission.

Acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph is achieved in 4.2 seconds. While M2 also gets an M2 Driver’s Package that increases top speed to 280 kmph, it is not likely to be offered in India where top speed will be limited to 250 kmph.

In the US, the car is priced from $58,900 (Rs 39 lakhs).
